I am a landscape and travel photographer who loves nothing more than to escape into the outside world with my camera. I enjoy capturing images that show elements and features around us so often overlooked during the hubbub of everyday life.
I have a passion for the outdoors, hiking, and photography and am fortunate to have traveled extensively both at home and abroad. I hope you enjoy my images, thoughts, and musings on life, the universe, and everything (hat tip to Douglas Adams).
I was born in the UK and spent 25+ years working in aerospace engineering (15 years of which while living in France and Germany). As a recovering engineer, dividing my time between marketing and photography, I now live in Southern California.
I started taking photos at the age of 14 with my trusty Russian-made Zenit 12, teaching myself the fundamentals of photography via countless rolls of poorly exposed 35mm film. I’ve been using Canon SLRs, then DSLRs, for the last 20+ years and now use an EOS R camera for both stills and videography – as well as an iPhone which accompanies me pretty much everywhere.
“Anything that excites me for any reason, I will photograph; not searching for unusual subject matter, but making the commonplace unusual.” - Edward Weston
