Hello! I’m Jon Norris, and I want to help you improve and get the most from your photography. Let me be your landscape photography guide to Joshua Tree National Park, and together we’ll explore new places and improve your photography at the same time.

I’m a landscape photographer offering one-to-one and small group workshops, online photography mentoring sessions, and fine art prints for sale.

For me, landscape photography is about the overall experience and isn’t just about the gear or capturing the image. My approach is to Explore. Experience. Create.

How can I help you?

I will help you to explore and experience nature and the outdoors in Joshua Tree National Park. During a workshop, I’ll coach you to help develop your photography, make it more rewarding, and help you capture some great landscape images. I offer workshops for all abilities, both technical and physical. I'll make sure you're in the best place to take advantage of the weather and conditions on the day.

Workshops are relaxed and fun and are based on a series of practical lessons out in the field using your own camera equipment. You set the pace to make sure you get the guidance and encouragement you're looking for to learn new skills. Explore the incredible landscape of Joshua Tree National Park safely and comfortably, and feel that buzz of excitement you get when you learn something new.

I coach and mentor landscape photographers like you, helping you to improve and realize your own creative potential. Mentoring sessions can be booked online (at a time to suit you) on a one-off or periodic basis. I mentor with empathy and encouragement and will help you progress on your photographic journey.

If you like my style of landscape photography and need that special something for your home or office, please take a look at my fine art prints. Print options include giclée fine art photographic print (unframed), canvas wrap, metal print, or acrylic print. Each print is produced to order and accompanied by a signed and numbered Certificate of Authenticity. Other print options (including framing) are available on request.

A bit more about me

I started taking photos at the age of 14 with my trusty Zenit 10 SLR camera, teaching myself the fundamentals of photography via countless rolls of poorly exposed 35mm film. I’ve been using Canon SLRs, then DSLRs, for the last 20+ years and now use an EOS R camera for both stills and videography.

I have a passion for the outdoors, hiking, and photography, and I am fortunate to have traveled extensively both at home and abroad. I was born in the UK and spent 25+ years working in aerospace engineering (15 years of which while living in France and Germany). As a recovering engineer, dividing my time between marketing and photography, I now live in Southern California.
